How we verify our information
Every guide cites its sources
Each task guide in JustArrived is built from official sources — IRCC and other Government of Canada pages, provincial services, and established settlement organizations. Those sources are attached to the guide itself: open any task and you'll find an "Official sources" section with links you can check yourself. If we can't source a claim, we don't publish it.
Every guide shows when it was last reviewed
Immigration rules change constantly. Every task displays a "Last reviewed" date, so you always know how fresh the information is — no silent staleness. Internally, every guide carries a review timestamp, and anything older than 90 days is automatically flagged for re-verification.
A standing review cycle, plus event-driven updates
On a quarterly cycle we re-check flagged guides against their original sources: links are re-visited, fees and processing times are re-confirmed, and anything that changed is rewritten. Between cycles, we monitor IRCC announcements and settlement-sector bulletins — when a rule changes, the affected guides are updated directly rather than waiting for the next review.
Matched to your status, not averaged across everyone
A rule that's true for a study-permit holder can be false for a refugee claimant. Our guides are tagged by immigration status and settlement stage, and you only see the ones that apply to you — which also means each guide can be precise instead of hedging across five different situations.
Honest limits
We show a "Verified" badge on directory resources only after we have actually verified them — and until then, we don't. And none of this is legal or immigration advice: for decisions that affect your status, always confirm with official government sources or a licensed professional. Spot something outdated?
